Myo-Reflex Therapy developed by Kurt Mosetter
Myo-Reflex Therapy is a system developed by Kurt Mosetter which combines scientific findings from specialized areas of classical medicine with years of experience in manual medicine. The system also incorporates aspects of physics and biomechanics to create an efficient yet extremely gentle therapy concept for a variety of painful conditions involving the nerve, muscle, joint and bone complex.
Acupuncture points and therapy meridians can be identified using the functional laws of movement and the individual history of how the patient's symptoms developed. Lasting pain relief can thus be achieved even in severe cases.
The therapist stimulates the muscles (which display excessive tension even at rest) in a specific pattern. This stimulation alerts the body to existing imbalances and triggers the appropriate regulating mechanism. The therapeutic stimulation is transmitted to the spinal cord (by a reflexive function) and is then passed on to the brain. The normal pattern of tension is stored in the brain, and this reflex allows the brain to compensate for the physical imbalance. This method can also be used to treat underlying emotional imbalances such as chronic stress, burn-out and depressive mood through the "wings of the body" that lift the mind.
